Hair Salon Owner Sets Up Tent... December, 16 2004
Hair salon owner sets up tent to cut hair after fire damages building.
Employees of a hair salon and spa damaged in an arson fire have taken a cue from the circus to keep their business going.
A Molotov cocktail started a fire at the About Hair salon on FM 529 near Highway 6 on Tuesday. Seventy-two hours later, employees decided to get back to work in a big tent set up in the parking lot.
The tent has 30 styling stations and on Saturday, the employees had 300 customers stop by.
"Someone who did this probably wanted us out of business and we`re not gonna let that happen," said salon owner Pat Cargle.
"I wouldn`t care if they were on the sidewalk, because this is where I want to be. My beautician is here," said salon client Bobbie Kresta.
The salon will move back into its old building after some repairs next month. A $10,000 reward is being offered to catch the person who set the fire.
